Berks County pharmacists and pharmacy staff are invited to a training on medications for opioid use disorder, presented by Daniel Ventricelli, PharmD, MPH, a pharmacist/faculty member of the University of Sciences College of Pharmacy. The training will:
- Summarize the scientific evidence supporting the appropriate use of medications for the treatment of opioid use disorder.
- Recognize the importance of collaborative working relationships among prescribers and pharmacists.
- Discuss results of a survey of Pennsylvania community pharmacists exploring the behavioral intentions to dispense buprenorphine containing medications.
- Discuss strategies for addressing stigma and obstacles to improving access to medications for opioid use disorder.
