On April 17, Berks County residents are encouraged to drop off unused or expired prescription medications at First Energy Stadium from 10am-2pm.
After a year’s hiatus due to COVID-19, the Berks County Medical Society has partnered with District Attorney John Adams, the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Reading Fightin Phils and SOS Berks to encourage residents of Berks County to safely dispose of unused and expired medications.
This will be a drive-through event held at First Energy Stadium located at 1900 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601. Participants will receive a free future ticket to a 2021 Fightin Phils baseball game.
“Our ultimate goal is to not only get these unused or expired drugs out of the household where there is greater potential for abuse and accidents, but also to educate the public on the permanent drop box locations in their community,” stated T.J. Huckleberry, Executive Director.
Over the last four years the Take Back event has had over a thousand cars participating, yielding over 1,800 lbs. of unused or expired medication. If you would like more information, please contact TJ Huckleberry at 610-375-6555 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
