Summer Issue of The Response Focuses on Trauma
Trauma is a public health crisis in the United States with 70% of all adults having experienced some type of traumatic event in their life, including abuse, assault, car accidents or other incident. Sometimes, people who have experienced trauma self-medicate with drugs or alcohol as a means to avoid thinking about the incident.
The Summer 2021 issue of The Response Magazine takes a hard look at trauma from a variety of perspectives: childhood trauma, cultural impacts, substance use disorders and more.
